South Melbourne crash: Man fighting for life after van crashes into tree on Kings Way

A man is fighting for life after being trapped in the wreckage of his van following a single vehicle crash in South Melbourne.

A man is fighting for life in hospital after his van ploughed into a tree in South Melbourne.

The man, who is yet to be formally identified, became trapped in his Ford transit van and had to be rescued by emergency services following the single-vehicle crash on Sunday, March 7.

The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It is believed the van was travelling north along Kings Way, near the Albert Rd intersection, about 6.15pm when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

Prahran Highway Patrol officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the van prior to the incident, witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage from the scene.
