South Melbourne businesses team up to help isolated workers beat the grind

Self-isolating and working from home means going without a morning barista-brewed coffee for many of us. But two stalwarts of the industry have joined forces to make sure you can still start your mornings with a proper caffeine hit.

Reusable mug giant frank green and South Melbourne brew house St Ali have teamed up to make sure the COVID-19 lockdown doesn’t ruin your morning caffeine hit.

They have come up with a specialty coffee solution to Australia’s growing remote workforce.

Two gift sets have been launched to allow people to replicate the cafe experience in their own homes and help make it feel like it’s “business as usual”.

The sets contain a frank green ceramic cup, along with either a bag of St Ali’s artisanal Orthodox Whole Beans or a trio of Nespresso compatible pods in three blends: Orthodox, Feels Good and Wide Awake.

Chief executive of frank green, Benjamin Young, said the partnership between the two South Melbourne businesses was “a natural fit”, with both companies looking to find ways to connect with customers and support local businesses when they need it most.

“frank green exists to support humanity and, as life as we know it changes and evolves, we wanted to find a way to support the workforce adapting to a new working model,” he said.

“By creating these gift sets we’re not only helping to bring a sense of normalcy to Aussie lives, but also creating human connection with an opportunity for companies to pay forward to their employees who have moved to isolation.”

Mr Young said several companies had bought sets as gifts for their staff members to help them “feel valued and appreciated during these unprecedented times”.

St Ali found Salvatore Malatesta, who has been roasting his famous coffee beans in Melbourne for more than 15 years, said the initiative was “another way to help Australians smile during a challenging time”.
