Rustic Bakery Cafe Mordialloc named best in Moorabbin, Chelsea region
A bakery which boasts the biggest selection of sourdough in Kingston and Bayside has been crowned as the region’s best.

Rustic Bakery and Cafe Mordialloc has taken out the title as the Leader’s best bakery in the Moorabbin, Mordialloc and Chelsea region.
The thriving eatery is a crowd favourite on the buzzing Main St strip, boasting the largest selection of sourdough in the Bayside and Kingston region as well as brunch, coffee and cakes.
Rustic is a hotspot for gluten free, low FODMAP, vegan and low GI bread lovers, with an abundance of options to keep all sensitive stomachs satisfied.
“Many products claiming to be Low GI, Low FODMAP still contain overly processed flours, hydrogenated oils & numbers … many are just targeting the latest trends and marketing a product without really considering healthy ingredients or health benefits,” Rustic management wrote online.
“Our authentic sourdough bread has stood the test of time through the ever changing trends, made with just four ingredients: flour, filtered water, sea salt and leaven.
“Unbleached flour, no yeast, no soy and no artificial additives or preservatives.”
More sourdough options include roast pumpkin quinoa spelt, fruit and nut, kalamata olive and wholegrain.
Located just a short walk from Mordialloc train station and the gorgeous foreshore, Rustic is also the perfect spot for a catch up over coffee, with plenty of sweet treats and tasty brunches on offer.
There’s homemade salad specials — like Mexican bean or potato salad — and delicious sweets including fresh muffins, chia parfait and the vegan choc mud cookie dough cake.
