Police allegedly found child abuse material on man’s phone
A 42-year-old man from Caulfield North is due to front Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today after police allegedly found child exploitation material stored on his phone.

A Caulfield North man will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today after allegedly accessing and possessing child abuse material on his mobile phone.
The Victorian joint-anti child exploitation team (JACET) started investigating the 42-year-old man’s online activities last month after reports a user of a website was accessing child abuse material.
An Australian Federal Police led investigation, along with the Australian centre to counter child exploitation, identified a Caulfield North man as the alleged user accessing the material.
The man was arrested by the Victorian division of JACET on Monday.
When officers searched his house they allegedly found child exploitation material stored on his mobile phone.
He has been charged with using a carriage service to access child pornography material and using a carriage service to possess child abuse material.
He faces a maximum penalty of 15 years behind bars under those charges.

The 42-year-old was granted bail to reappear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
