Mordialloc Braeside Junior Football Club shorts found at trashed home

A pair of junior footy club footy shorts potentially left behind at a trashed home in Melbourne’s south are being used by police in their hunt to find the alleged offenders.

A pair of junior football club shorts have been linked to a police hunt for the offenders who have allegedly trashed an Aspendale Gardens home.

Moorabbin detectives found the shorts, believed to be part of the Mordialloc Braeside Junior Football Club uniform, inside the Wells Rd home as they investigated a burglary.

The house is believed to have been broken into on several occasions in September, with more than $50,000 damage caused by the alleged offenders, who allegedly started small fires inside various rooms and also allegedly graffitied walls.

Other damage inside the home included smashed windows and light fittings torn out of ceilings.

Investigators believe the pair of footy shorts could have been left behind by one of the alleged offenders during one of the break-ins.

Mordialloc Braeside Junior Football Club president Paul Burke said he was unaware of the discovery or the incident when contacted by Leader.
