A line-up of some of Australia’s favourite acts will hit the stage at the Palais Theatre this month to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.
Brian Nankervis returns to host the annual Heart of St Kilda concert, which will feature performances from a raft of industry stalwarts, including Joe Camilleri, Kitty Flanagan, Dan Sultan, The Chantoozies and Rhonda Burchmore.
The concert raises money for Sacred Heart Mission’s meals program, which serves 400 meals every day to people experiencing homelessness, social isolation and disadvantage.
Performers donate their time and talent for the October 23 event, with Libbi Gorr, the Teskey Brothers, Carl Barron, Rob Snarski and Steph Tisdell also among the cavalcade of stars.
More than 160,000 meals are dished up in the Mission’s Grey St dining hall each year.
Here are some of the performers gracing the stage for the event.
Joe Camilleri
Recently awarded “living legend” status by Rolling Stone, Camilleri’s career spans an astonishing 50-plus years.
As a singer, songwriter, saxophonist and producer Camilleri is considered one of the most genuinely talented figures in Australian music still at the top of his game.
As leader of two of Australia’s most successful bands, Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons and The Black Sorrows, Camilleri’s music has become part of Australian music culture and he was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007.
Never one to sit still, Camilleri is preparing to promote the third single from his 49th album, The Black Sorrows’ Citizen John, on a 15 show tour of Europe (the band’s second European jaunt for 2019) and a 50-plus show tour in Australia.
Kitty Flanagan
Now one of Australia’s best known comedians, Flanagan was once Australia’s least known waitress at Pizza Hut.
She has performed all over the world and can be seen regularly on comedy quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention?
She is also known for her role as Rhonda on ABC show’s Utopia.

Rhonda Burchmore
After 30 years in the business, this vivacious, flame-haired beauty continues to turn heads wherever she goes and draw thunderous applause wherever she performs.
Highlights of Rhonda Burchmore’s illustrious career are performing on London’s West End in a number of musicals including Sugar Babies featuring Mickey Rooney and Ann Miller, Stop The World I Want To Get Off with Anthony Newly and starring opposite David Atkins in the original Hot Shoe Shuffle.

From the ‘80s to today, they have been adored by audiences for their vibrant live shows and their strong female lead vocal line-up.
