Melbourne’s finest bakers are preparing their sweetest treats and fluffiest doughs for three weekends of indulgence.
The Baker’s Exchange will be held in Moorabbin, North Melbourne and St Kilda East in July with goodies from more than 25 food trucks on offer.
Treats for sale will include breakfast doughnuts from Hampton and Co, hand-rolled, boiled and baked bagels from Five and Dime Bagels, authentic Greek desserts from Sweet Mistake and sweet and savoury artisan crepes from Pop Up Crepes.
The event, first held in Ballarat in 2017 with 4000 people attending over two days, was created by Hank Marvin Markets.
Paul Wesolek, founder of Hank Marvin, said the original event was so successful he wanted to expand and bring it to Melbourne.
Mr Wesolek said he had “carefully curated a trio of destinations based on their appeal, centrality and ambience”.
“Community is central to everything we do at Hank Marvin, and we feel that by activating these three locations we’ll be connecting with different local communities and inviting people from across Melbourne to join in the sweet celebrations,” he said.
The first event will be held on the weekend of July 6 and 7 at Kingston Town Hall, Moorabbin.

It will then move to Woolstore and Co in North Melbourne for July 13 and 14 before the final instalment at Ripponlea Primary School, St Kilda on July 20 and 21.
Mr Wesolek said he was hoping shoppers would stay on after buying their treats.
“It’s a bit of a nod to the old-fashioned afternoon tea; we want our punters to get among the
frivolity and enjoy a sweet and maybe a glass of bubbly too,” he said.
“With the winter weather not particularly reliable, we’re looking forward to bringing people great all-weather events to get them out of their Ugg boots and into the local community.”
The Baker’s Exchange runs from 9am-1pm each weekend until sold out and there is a $2 entry fee for people over 16.
