Appeal to find alleged Southland shoplifting trio on run for three months after brazen clothing haul
Despite a security guard stepping in when they tried on and allegedly stole clothes from Southland, police have still been unable to catch a trio of women three months after the incident. Now, Crime Stoppers is calling for the public’s help.

A trio of scheming shoplifters have been on the run for more than three months after a brazen theft at Southland Shopping Centre.
Police are now calling for the public’s help to identify three women following the theft of a number of clothing items from a store about 3.45pm on May 29.
It’s believed the thieves tried on their new threads before they were met with a security guard as they attempted to make their getaway.
They handed back some of the clothes, however still managed to leave with a significant amount of product.
The last confirmed sighting of the women was shortly after as they left the centre in a silver SUV.
“They were seen leaving the shopping centre carpark in a silver SUV with the registration 1QZ1DV,” a Crime Stoppers spokesman said.
“Police have released images of three women whom they believe may be able to assist in their inquiries.”
All the women police are seeking to identify are of Pacific Islander appearance with dark hair.
The first was wearing a black T-shirt with a large image on the front, black pants, sunglasses on her head, and was carrying a black bag.
The second was wearing a black T-shirt with white text on the front, black pants, a back beanie and carrying a black shoulder bag.
The third was wearing a black singlet top, black pants, and carrying a black shoulder bag.
