A strange face may peer back at you along Toorak Rd this month, but don’t be alarmed — it’s all in the name of art.
More than 100 contemporary sculptures will be displayed in shop windows and footpaths along the Toorak Village Precinct as part of the annual Toorak Village Sculpture Exhibition.
Windsor sculptor William Eicholtz — who will display a Janus-faced vase, Animated Vegetation, in Rokk Man Barbers — said the exhibition was a great chance for artists to show their creations.

“I think its good for shop keeps to think about art in a retail space too.”
Rokk Man Barber manager Bekah Baller said there was a real sense of community spirit for the retailers involved.
“It’s a cool opportunity to get the village involved as a whole,” she said.
“We try and get sculptures that represent who we are and what we do each year.”
“It's a fantastic opportunity for emerging through to established artists to showcase their work to the general public,” Eicholtz said.
Toorak Village Traders Association president and exhibition director Tony Fialides said he was thrilled nine Stonnington based artists were taking part this year.
“The festival links the arts with business to form a unique cultural experience,” Mr Fialides said.
The 2019 Toorak Village Sculpture Exhibition is on May 1 to June 9.
