St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Kew has had a multi million-dollar makeover to improve patient services.

A fifth operating theatre, new day procedure, refurbished consulting rooms and a new reception foyer were added to the hospital under the $3.8 million revamp.

The hospital’s general manager, Jenny Gozdzik, said the work meant the hospital could host more specialists in their consulting suites, while the latest tools and equipment were installed in its new operating theatre.

“I think it’s been a great investment by St Vincent’s Health Australia into that site, it’s really modernised the site,” Ms Gozdzik said.

“It means we can continue to grow and to provide services to patients from Kew and the surrounding suburbs.”

The new day procedure area is sure to make for a comfortable short stay.

It also gave patients the flexibility to choose to have their operations onsite in Kew rather than travelling to other St Vincent’s hospital sites in the city, she said.

This made it easier for their family to visit and for them to find long-term carpark if they drove to the hospital prior to their operation, she said.

“The addition of the new facilities was designed to ensure its key areas of orthopaedics, plastic surgery, ophthalmology and faciomaxillary surgery continues to operate to the highest standards,” she said.

“Healthcare is ever-evolving and it’s vital that we regularly review and upgrade our facilities and services to allow us to provide the very best in patient care.”

St Vincent’s has managed the 56-bed hospital on Studley Park Rd, Kew, for the past 10 years.

Other services at the hospital include outpatient radiology services and specialised hand surgery.
