EXPERIENCED Prahran opener Adam Bull crafted his fifth Premier Cricket century on Saturday as the visitors piled on the runs against Greenvale Kangaroos.

True Blues vice-captain Bull was dismissed shortly before stumps for a magnificent 151, taking his season tally to 311 runs at 62.2.

Prahran went to stumps at 5-366 from 99 overs and will wait until this weekend to decide whether or not to bat on.

“Bully has shown again, even late in his career, how good he can be,” True Blues skipper Jake Hancock said.

“He understands his game really well and brings so much to the group, so it was great to see him bat the day pretty much. To bat almost 100 overs is no easy feat for any batsmen, so it’s a pretty impressive achievement.

“He anchored the innings perfectly for everybody else. It was a very successful day.”

Hancock (43) and Bull put on 78 for the first wicket, while Jacob Serry (65), Nathan McNally (37 not out) and James Billington (36) also made significant contributions.

The naturally-aggressive Bull batted for more than six hours and faced 258 balls, hitting 14 boundaries and two sixes.

“It just didn’t happen that easily for him,” Hancock said, pointing to the right-hander’s patience.

“That’s red-ball batting, and you go through those periods where it’s tough and then it’s easy.

“The ground was in beautiful condition, and with the weather being a bit sunny, we were always looking to bat first. It was definitely a good toss to win.”

The True Blues sit in ninth position on the ladder with a 2-1-2 record.
