South Yarra: Two men arrested, man critically injured after apartment block carpark fight
A man allegedly belted in a South Yarra carpark has been taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition after being left for dead. Two men have been arrested while the alleged victim battles to recover.

A sickening assault in a South Yarra carpark has landed a man in hospital with serious injuries after he was attacked by two men he knew.
Stonnington detective Senior Sergeant Nick Densley said police were called to investigate the incident at an apartment block in Powell St at noon on Tuesday, September 29.
Sen-Sgt Densley said officers and paramedics attended the scene to find a 37-year-old man unconscious in the carpark.
He was rushed to The Alfred hospital in a life-threatening condition with serious head, chest and abdomen injuries.
Police later arrested a 25-year-old man of no fixed address in Toorak on Wednesday, September 30 and a 24-year-old Brunswick man in Brunswick on Thursday, October 1 for their alleged roles in the incident.
Sen-Sgt Densley said the victim and the two men were known to each other, and the Brunswick man had also been on police’s radar for an unrelated alleged car theft.
The two men were charged with assault and intentionally causing serious injury and faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for bail applications individually last week.
Sen-Sgt Densley said both men were further remanded to face the court again as co-offenders on January 11.
He said the victim had since stabilised slightly but was still at The Alfred recovering from his injuries.
