A popular craft beer company that has the backing of Aussie cricket captain Pat Cummins will open its first Melbourne venue this weekend, serving up cold beers and American BBQ classics.
Mountain Culture Beer Co will pour its first pints in its Murphy St, Richmond venue on Friday.
Co-founder Harriet McCready said Richmond was the perfect suburb for the craft beer company’s first Melbourne venture.
“Richmond is a little slice of everything that’s great about Melbourne,” she said.
“Good coffee everywhere, footy just up the road, live music next door and dumplings around the corner.
“The brew pub is arguably one of the most beautiful venues in Melbourne, and we are excited to open it up and throw a good old Mountain Culture party.”
All of Mountain Culture’s core beers and some limited release brews will be on tap.
On the menu will be Aussie pub favourites, American BBQ classics — straight from the on-site smoker — along with gluten free, vegetarian and kid-friendly options.
The Richmond venue will be the company’s fourth venue, with three other NSW brewpubs in Katoomba, Emu Plains and Redfern.
“This was a big move for Mountain Culture,” chief executive and co-founder DJ McCready said.
“We started as a humble brewpub in the Blue Mountains and expanded to Sydney, but Melbourne is quickly catching up as our biggest market.”
A Hobart venue will also open later this month.
