Police probe murder-suicide theory after two deaths across city
The death of a woman in Richmond has been linked to another body found in Melbourne’s CBD, with investigators probing a murder-suicide theory.

The death of a woman in Richmond on Saturday morning has been linked to another body found a short time later in Melbourne’s CBD.
Police are investigating the theory both deaths could be the result of a murder-suicide as they call off the search for suspects.
Homicide Squad detectives are treating the death of the woman as suspicious.
Paramedics and police were called to a Church St home at 3.20am after reports of an injured woman, but the woman died at the scene.
Across town, police found a man’s body in the CBD, at the intersection of Spencer St and Little Collins St about 4am.
At the Richmond crime scene police taped off the side of the unit, and cordoned off a white Mitsubishi car believed to be linked to the deceased woman.
A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said he saw a man in a black hoodie leave the scene at a similar time to when police were called to the incident.
Coroners took the body this morning while investigators and the forensic teams photographed the apartment and vehicle.
Uniformed officers questioned other residents living within the complex, but most had no idea a woman had died just metres from their home.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the two deaths were linked.
“Police believe the man and woman were known to each other,” the spokesperson said.
“Investigators are not looking for anyone else or believe any other party is involved in either incident.”
The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
