MONGOLS national Sergeant at Arms Shane Bowden has faced court today accused of knifing two men in a frightening home invasion.

Police allege the high-ranking bikie confronted a sleeping couple in their South Yarra apartment in the early hours of yesterday morning armed with a bowie knife and jemmy bar demanding money.

They say the 42-year-old was dressed in camouflage and armed with tools including night-vision goggles when he stormed into the home.

Charge sheets filed with the court allege Bowden stole cash, a handbag and purse, a makeup bag and cosmetics, two sets of car keys and an umbrella before fleeing.

It is alleged Bowden, and a female co-accused, stole about $2000 in cash and personal belongings.

Bowden didn’t say anything during this morning’s short administrative hearing.

The court heard CCTV footage from a nearby business needed to be obtained and analysed.

DNA and fingerprint evidence would also be tested.

There were three people in the apartment at the time of the burglary, two men aged 31 and 32, and a woman aged 28.

She told police Bowden assaulted her partner before a female intruder appeared.

She was punched to the head by the male victim’s brother who had been sleeping in the next room, she said.

A scuffle then broke out in which both male victims were allegedly stabbed in the hands.

At an out-of-sessions court hearing last night Detective Senior Constable Chris Pountney said the female victim was able to throw the knife out of the window of the Davis Ave apartment and call police.

The victims then fled while Bowden and his alleged accomplice fled out the back of the apartment.

Police allegedly saw Bowden and the woman hiding behind a tree on the corner of Alexandra Ave and Yarra St in South Yarra about 30 minutes after the incident.

Police later found a jimmy bar in the pool of the apartment complex, night vision goggles in the backyard, a bowie knife in the street and a pair of camouflage boots in the neighbouring apartment.

A section of tooth was also found in the bedroom where one of the male victim had allegedly punched Bowden’s accomplice in the face.

The two men both went to hospital with severe cuts to their hands, with at least one requiring surgery.

Sen-Constable Pountney said the female offender’s vehicle was found inside a few blocks from the victims’ apartment.

Bowden’s wallet was allegedly found inside his accomplice’s Port Melbourne apartment, as well as more camouflage clothing and two more sets of night vision goggles.

Sen-Constable Pountney said Bowden gave a no-comment interview to police but his accomplice burst into tears when told of their alleged victims’ injuries.

Bowden shot Hells Angel Christopher Wayne Hudson in the face at the infamous Gold Coast “Ballroom Blitz” in 2006.

He moved to Port Melbourne about two years ago from Queensland.

Sen-Constable Pountney said Bowden should be denied bail because of his propensity for violence and status as member of an outlaw motorcycle gang.

“Because of this role we hold fears for the safety and wellbeing of the victims if he’s given bail,” he said.

Bowden was remanded on several charges, including aggravated burglary with an offensive weapon, two counts of intentionally causing injury, two counts of intentionally causing serious injury and two counts of common law assault.

He told bail justice Annette Stockman that he had recently returned from boxing training in Bali.

He did not apply for bail today.

Bowden’s alleged accomplice, Aysen Un Lu, was charged for aggravated burglary, assault, intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing injury, theft and going equipped to steal.

Un Lu, 39, of South Melbourne, has been remanded in custody and will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

Her lawyer says its unclear whether or not she will make an application for bail.
