A Ferrari owner who allegedly caused a multi-vehicle crash in Melbourne has faced court a month after a warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to appear
Robert Marro was allegedly behind the wheel of his 2004 Ferrari when it collided with a utility in April.
The crash happened along a section of Punt Rd, South Yarra about 4.30pm on April 30.
Court documents previously obtained by the Herald Sun revealed police charged the 54-year-old with careless driving and driving in a manner dangerous to the public.
However, Mr Marro’s lawyer — who appeared alongside him at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning — informed Magistrate James Henderson that police intend to withdraw three existing charges and file “lesser charges”.
Mr Marro appeared in court and remained silent while wearing a navy suit jacket and white shirt.
A warrant was issued for the Ferrari owner last month when he did not appear at court in relation to the matter.
It was not the first time he failed to appear.
The matter was adjourned for a plea on November 17.
