Massive Cinnamon Scroll: Chapel St Windsor store’s $75, eight flavour creation

It’s a giant feed you won’t want to scroll past – a Chapel Street bakery has created Australia’s biggest cinnamon scroll, packed with sugary goodness.

Brace yourself baked goods lovers, a new contender for Melbourne’s biggest sweet treat has arrived on Chapel St.

Cinnamon Scrolls, located up the Windsor end of the popular shopping strip, has created what it claims is the largest variety of the bakery snack in Australia.

The $75 pie-like creation takes up to four hours to make, has a 44cm radius, and is packed with 10 pull-apart scrolls.

It can be topped with up to eight flavours, toppings and frostings, including M&Ms, Maltesers, Nutella, salted caramel, Oreos, Lotus Biscoff, Snickers and Kinder Surprise.

Cinnamon Scrolls Windsor manager Jessy Soliman said the giant scroll was a slightly larger take on its $65 scroll cake which it has been selling since it opened in 2019.

“Sometimes we are making this for kids parties, some people are asking for just one flavour, it’s like a personalised giant scroll,” Ms Soliman said.

“There’s lots of different layers and flavours which make it very rich … the main thing is to bake it fresh and make it with love. ”.

The store has created the super-sized scroll as its entry in the ‘Sweet Treat’ category of the shopping strip’s Chapel Champion Awards, to be handed out in May.

The scroll will be up against entries from other eateries on Chapel St who have made their own wacky deserts.

They include a deep-fried Magnum ice cream with cinnamon sugar-covered sweet potato fries from Tommy Ruff fish bar, and a Cadbury Creme Egg toastie from Bistro Morgan bakery.
