Friends of a Hawthorn East man are calling out for help cover his medical expenses after he was brutally assaulted at a music festival at the weekend. The injuries he sustained will shock you.

Friends of a Hawthorn East man who was on the receiving end of a brutal unprovoked attack at an electronic music festival have put a call out to raise funds for expected medical costs.

Harry Aikman, who is raising money through gofundme, wrote that their friend Ted was assaulted on the dance floor at Pitch Music and Arts Festival in Moyston, near Ararat on the weekend

“The attacker threw a bottle into Ted’s face and the result being five badly damaged teeth (broken and knocked out) and over 20 stitches to his face,” he wrote.

“The attacker ran and got away leaving Ted on the ground and then straight to the medics’ tent where the extent of the damage was realised.

“As a result of all of this, the person who committed the assault has escaped and Ted’s medical bills are going to be in the thousands.

“As a friend of Ted’s it would be greatly appreciated if any donation was given to help out mate in a time of need, feel free to donate what you wish as he and his family go through this hard and distressing time.”

Police said the 24-year-old sustained “serious injuries” during the incident on Monday morning and was treated by medical staff on scene.

Police believe there was an argument between two to four people before the victim was struck in the face with a glass bottle about 5.30am, after which police were called.

Pitch Music and Arts Festival has been contacted for comment.
