Boroondara police crack down on dangerous illicit drugs

Drugs, cash and a gun have been seized by police following arrests across Boroondara’s affluent leafy inner-suburbs.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of illicit drugs were pulled off Boroondara’s streets within two days, highlighting their prevalence within the community, police say.

Cocaine, methylamphetamine and GHB were discovered during police raids at properties across the municipality earlier this month.

Cops pulled over a car about 4.30am on June 7 after they noticed it being driven erratically along Canterbury Rd in Canterbury.

“These are all life-threatening drugs that are being used,” Sen-Sgt Cullen said.

“To the operational police person, the ice-affected person is the most difficult to deal with.”

He praised the hard work of police in charging those allegedly involved in the drug rings, including a 29-year-old St Kilda man, a 34-year-old Hawthorn man and a 45-year-old Surrey Hills man.
