AUSTRALIA’S top milliners were on show this week for the Caulfield Cup Carnival at the Millinery Couture Runway Show.
Designer milliner Peter Jago channelled the 1950s with Grace Kelly as his muse.
“Her transformative style and smouldering elegance was a great source of inspiration for me this season,’’ Mr Jago said.

Other milliners on show included Serena Lindeman, Louise Macdonald, Luci Giblin of Ward & Wylie, Felicity Northeast, Jill Humphries of Jill & Jack Millinery, Melissa Jackson, Rebecca Share, Rebecca Stacey of Canary Jane’s Flowers as well as UK milliner Piers Atkinson who designed and flew in three pieces for the evening.
The late milliner Paris Kyne’s 25th Anniversary Exhibition was also opened last night and will be on show in the Fashion and Entertainment Precinct on BECK Caulfield Guineas Day, October 11, and Crown Golden Ale Caulfield Cup Day, October 18.
Paris’s sister, Kaylene Wickham, says the exhibition was a fitting tribute to her brother, who was
known for his flair and involvement in the millinery world.
“This is a fantastic chance for us to honour Paris and his undeniable skill as a designer, as well
as his passion for horseracing. He has always had a strong affinity for Melbourne Racing Club
and loved being part of the action at Caulfield,” Ms Wickham said.
