Honda Australia working with WorkSafe over Somerton motorcycle fatality

WorkSafe investigators are looking into the events surrounding a women’s death at a motorcycle training centre in Somerton.
It is understood the 65-year-old Caulfield North woman lost control of the motorcycle on Saturday around 11am at the HART Somerton training site and died at the scene.
Honda Australia confirmed it was working with investigators.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the family of the rider and those who witnessed the incident during this extremely difficult time,” Honda Australia said in a statement.
“Honda takes safety very seriously, and we are currently working with authorities to understand the circumstances of the incident and will await the outcome of their findings.”
The company has since suspended all rider training at it’s Victorian sites.
Police are preparing a report for the coroner while WorkSafe are conducting an investigation.
