A truck driver has been killed after his vehicle crashed and burst into flames in Karramomus in the state’s north on Thursday morning.

The truck was travelling along Coach Road, near Karramomus Road, when it left the bitumen and struck a tree before bursting into flames about 9.40am.

Sadly, the driver died at the scene.

Police will prepare a report for coroner and ask that anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage, call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.

They are yet to be formally identified.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson confirmed paramedics had also been called to the scene.
