Three people including a child have been injured after a multi-car crash on a busy highway between Shepparton and Mooroopna, causing traffic chaos.
Three people including a child have been injured following a three-car crash on a busy highway in the state’s north.
Emergency services were called to the scene in the eastbound lane of the Midland Highway between Shepparton and Mooroopna, just before 9am on Thursday.
Leading Senior Constable Glenn Fitzgerald said it was the result of a rear-end collision.
“Coming from an 80km/h zone to a 60km/h zone into Shepparton — one car hasn’t put their breaks on in time,” he said.
The collision delayed traffic for more than an hour.
“It was banked up from as far as I could see,” Sen-Constable Fitzgerald said.
A primary school aged girl, a woman believed to be in her 40s and a woman believed to be in her 50s were all taken to Goulburn Valley Health in stable conditions with suspected minor injuries.
