Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a woman in Shepparton on Saturday night.
Emergency services responded to reports of a woman with serious injuries at a property at McCubbin Drive about 6.10pm.
A 27-year-old Shepparton woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 28-year-old Shepparton man was assisting police with their inquiries and has since been released.
Detectives are working to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.
