Shepparton crime: Montather Al Mousawi sold drugs to undercover cops

A Mongols bikie associate from the Goulburn Valley who sold drugs to the wrong person three times has been sentenced in court.

A Kialla man with connections to the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang sold drugs to undercover officers on three occasions, a court has heard.

Montather Al Mousawi was jailed for eight months after he pleaded guilty to a string of charges including drug offences in the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The court heard Al Mousawi agreed to sell 28.3g of cocaine to an undercover police officer for $7500 in Shepparton on June 10 this year after making contact via different social media platforms.

On June 21, the 23-year-old along with two other co-offenders, Lausei Asiata and Pancrazio Mazza, sold 83.8g of cocaine to the same officer.

It was heard the drugs were sold for $21,900.

At this meeting in Seymour, Al Mousawi told the two officers in attendance he had a double barrel shotgun for sale for $1000 but stated he could not sell it at that time.

The undercover officer then contacted Al Mousawi when he left their meeting point and offered $5000 for the gun.

It was eventually sold by the three men for $4500.

On July 4, the three men again travelled to Seymour with another co-offender and sold 112.1g of cocaine to undercover officers again for $29,200.

Authorities executed search warrants at Al Mousawi’s home on July 27 where they located money and three phones.

Court documents reveal Al Mousawi failed to “provide any information or assistance that is reasonable and necessary to allow police officers” to access the phone’s contents.

Upon his release, Al Mousawi will also undergo a two-year community corrections order.
