Shepparton crash: Driver killed in crash on Boundary Road Wunghnu

A passerby has discovered a tragic crash scene in the Goulburn Valley, after a driver veered off the road and smashed into a tree.

A driver has been killed after their ute veered off the road and smashed into a tree near Shepparton.

A passerby discovered the tragic crash scene on Boundary Road in Wunghnu, a town north of Shepparton, about 5am Monday.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a single vehicle crash, but initial investigations indicate the grey utility was travelling west when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

Sadly, the driver and sole occupant of the car, a 47-year-old Wunghnu man, died at the scene.

The time of the collision has not been determined.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
