Shepparton childcare sex fiend Michael Tracey pleads guilty to child abuse material charges

A Shepparton childcare cosplayer and Sesame Street fanboy paid up to $5000 to view vile child abuse material to “relieve himself”.

A deviant geek sex freak who worked at various childcare centres paid big money for multiple premium pedophile website memberships.

Michael Tracey, 26, was sentenced in the County Court on Thursday to 10 months behind bars after pleading guilty to access and possess child abuse material.

Tracey, who lived with his mum, was nabbed at his Shepparton East home following a multinational police investigation on March 10 last year.

Tracey was nabbed after the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team received a tip from the US-based National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.

Investigators seized multiple devices including mobile phones and external hard drives.

Police who examined the devices discovered Tracey’s lewd history and horde of grubby child abuse material.

Tracey downloaded sickening images and videos from vile websites including one where the sex fiend was a premium member.

The court heard the website allowed “persons to purchase a membership to gain access to ‘redmem’ the members only section of the site”.

Tracey a paid for premium memberships to access pedophile websites.

Tracey was able to purchase child abuse material via his redmem membership, the court was told.

The vile videos Tracey downloaded including sickening material which depicted young children in lewd acts with adult men and animals.

Police also discovered Tracey was able to access another deviant site which was within the redmem site.

Investigators also uncovered multiple other sicko sites Tracey was a member of.

Tracey was caught with 1542 child abuse images and videos which depicted boys and girls in sickening and lewd acts involving adult males.

Tracey worked at Wyndham Early Learning and Goodstart Early Learning Shepparton.

Tracey, a geek who enjoys costumes and Sesame Street, told police he “would feel like someone else was in control when he was downloading the child abuse material”.

Tracey admitted paying for his pedo website memberships, but claimed the “urge” to download the vile material would “come and go”.

The deviant, who estimated he paid up to $5000 for his sicko images and videos, also told police he would watch the material and then “relieve himself”.

The court heard Tracey, who has no priors, previously worked at an out of hours after school program and later at Shepparton childcare providers Goodstart Early Learning and Wyndham Early Learning.

Tracey was jailed.

Tracey had pursued a career working with young children but recently worked as a cleaner, the court was told.

Judge Robyn Harper said Tracey’s material was “degrading and depraved” and “wouldn’t be repeated here (in court)”.

“This is not a victimless crime … crimes such as yours is increasingly prevalent offending and is often difficult to detect,” Judge Harper said.

“It creates a market for the exploitation of children for the sexual gratification of adults such as yourself …”

Tracey, who was made a registered sex offender for 15 years, was sentenced to an 18-month jail term but will be released after serving 10 months.
