Police find missing couple near Echuca-Moama

A couple who went missing near the NSW-Victoria border at the weekend have been found along with a third person.

A couple who went missing near Echuca-Moama have been found by police, along with a third person.

Police launched a major search on the NSW-Victoria border after reports the couple went missing on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the Perricoota State Forest near Echuca-Moama after a man and woman became lost while travelling the Murray River.

It is understood they were in a small boat about noon on Saturday and later contacted a friend to say they were lost in the Womboota area.

Officers from Murray River Police District, together with Polair, the Volunteer Rescue Association, State Emergency Service (SES) and NSW Forestry, a co-ordinated search of the area.
