Teenage boy rushed to hospital after being bitten by snake in Tatura

Paramedics have rushed a teenage boy to hospital after he was bitten by a snake in Tatura in the state’s north.

A teenage boy has been rushed to hospital after being bitten by a snake in Tatura.

Goulburn Valley Health is treating the victim, who it’s understood was bitten on the leg or foot about 11.40am Friday.

The condition of the boy is unknown.

Victorian’s can be expected to see more snakes on the move as summer reaches its peak.

If a snake bite occurs, the recommended course of action is to call emergency services and also to apply a tourniquet to the affected area.

Pets, such as dogs, are also at risk and if your pets begin to show sporadic, random symptoms such as vomiting and paralysis it is recommended you seek immediate veterinary attention for your pet.
