Man found dead in Lake Nagambie

Police boats have been called to Lake Nagambie after a man’s body was found in the water near the intersection of the Goulburn River.

A man’s body has been pulled from a Goulburn Valley waterway.

Police boats discovered the body Friday morning near where the Goulburn River meets Lake Nagambie.

Crews are currently at the scene, near Chinaman’s Bridge.

The circumstances of the death are yet to be confirmed.

Police confirmed the male was deceased after being called to the scene about 8.30am.

Police, ambulance and SES crews all remain at the scene.

Chinaman’s Bridge has been a cause for concern for local community leaders with many questioning the bridge’s structural security, safety and accessibility.
