Motorbike rider dies after Boxing Day crash on Mitchell Rd at Tatong

A 77-year-old motorbike rider has died in hospital following a horror Boxing Day crash in the state’s northeast.

A 77-year-old motorbike rider has died after a horror crash at Tatong on Boxing Day.

The Mudgegonga man came off his motorcycle on Mitchell Road on December 26 just before 11am.

Police found the rider “down an embankment” with his motorcycle lying on the road.

The rider was pulled out of the ditch and was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition with life-threatening upper body injuries.

He tragically died in hospital on January 5.

Road crashes killed 296 people in Victoria in 2023.
