Major police sting as four charged over ice trafficking in Yarrawonga, Bundalong
A major local police sting has resulted in four people being charged after police seized more than $50,000 worth of meth in a series of raids in the state’s northeast.

A major local police sting has resulted in four people being charged after police seized more than $50,000 worth of meth in a series of raids in the state’s northeast.
Cobram Crime Investigation Unit detectives, along with uniformed officers from Cobram, Yarrawonga and Tungamah, executed four search warrants in Yarrawonga and Bundalong this month.
On August 7, detectives swooped on a a Bundalong address, where they seized a commercial quantity of meth and a large amount of cash.
A 38-year-old man and 36-year-old woman from Bundalong were charged with trafficking commercial quantity of drug of dependence, possess drug of dependence, deal with proceeds of crime, and handle stolen goods.
The woman was bailed while the man was remanded.
Both will appear at the Wangaratta Magistrates Court on November 7.
A few days later on August 13, detectives turned their attention to a Yarrawonga address where a small quantity of drugs and a phone were found.
A 21-year-old Yarrawonga man was charged with trafficking a drug of dependence and possessing a drug of dependence.
He was bailed to appear at the Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court on November 7.
Police executed another warrant at another Yarrawonga address on the same day, where a shotgun and a large quantity of vapes were seized.
A 24-year-old Yarrawonga man was charged with prohibited person possession of a firearm and possessing a schedule 4 poison.
A week later on August 21, detectives descended on another Yarrawonga address where a quantity of cannabis was seized and a 56-year-old woman was issued with a caution.
Cobram Crime Investigation Unit Detective Sergeant Marcus Boyd said community safety was police’s “number one priority, which is why we will continue to run these investigations to remove illicit drugs from our streets”.
“Drugs like those seized during this operation are not just illegal, they have the potential to destroy lives and fuel further crime,” Sgt Boyd said.
“Our message for anyone involved in the illicit drug trade is clear – there is no safe haven for you in regional Victoria.”
