Lagozzino Top Pub Tatura is on the market.

A booming town west of Shepparton is home to one of the region’s most historic haunts – the beloved Lagozzino Top Pub in Tatura.

And now, this pub is on the market after being owned by same family for more than half a century.

The solid brick pub, built in the 1890s, sits on the main Hogan St strip and is fitted out with a public bar, pool tables, a lounge, and a function room.

It also boasts a commercial kitchen, a dining room, a bistro, and a beer garden.

Plus, there are nine hotel style accommodation rooms, with an adjoining two-bedroom residence perfect for the new owners.

Frank and Jenny Lagozzino are selling the pub.

Owner Frank Lagozzino said he was motivated to sell it and retire after a tough year through the pandemic.

“I’m getting on a bit and it’s time to take it easy,” he said.

“I’ve owned it for the last 10 years, but it has been in the family for more than 50.”

Despite the family ties, the publican said there was no other Lagozinno willing to take it on.

“I’m not happy to sell it, but it’s something I’ve got to do,” he said.

“We’ve just got to find the right person.”

The pub features pool tables.

CRE Brokers agent Ian McDonald said the pub would appeal to someone wanting a new career and a tree change.

“It would be ideal for someone wanting to get into pubs,” he said.

“It’s a beautiful building with lots of history, and it’s also a good business.”

The pub is listed for $800,000.

Tatura is 20 minutes east of Shepparton with a population of 4500 people.
