Killer driver Vincent Varapodio, 55, pleads guilty at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court to dangerous driving causing the death of Paul Hangan

A Tatura man has faced court after killing a Rochester motorcyclist with his dangerous driving.

Vincent Varapodio, 55, of Tatura pleaded guilty at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court to dangerous driving causing death after killing 67-year-old Paul Hangan.

On September 22, 2023 about 2.15pm Varapodio collided with Mr Hangan, who was riding a motorbike, at the intersection of Winter and Webbs roads at Nanneella, between Rochester and Kyabram.

Mr Hangan died at the scene.

Varapodio, who has been on bail, was charged by the Major Collision Unit on the same day.

Magistrate Trieu Huynh committed Varapodio to the County Court where he will be formally arraigned on July 29 ahead of sentencing and remains on bail.
