A devastated community is remembering a devoted father for his “beautiful spirit” and “generosity” after his sudden death.

Trent “Davo” Davidson from Kanyapella died at just 44 on August 8.

Mr Davidson, who played at Moama Cricket Club, left behind daughters Noah and Willow and wife Melanie Davidson.

Family friend Sally Robson said Mr Davidson was a “loved mate” who was incredibly helpful.

“Davo had a beautiful spirit of joy. Mel, Willow and Noah were the centre of his world and who he adored and was devoted to them,” she said in a post on a fundraising website.

More than $41,000 has been raised to support the family in just two days.

“Friends have set up this GoFundMe to help with the costs associated with this heartbreaking loss and to help the family as they navigate the difficult journey ahead,” Ms Robson said.

Moama Cricket Club, in a social media post, said Mr Davidson was much loved at the cricket club.

“Davo, you always had a smile on your face and we loved having you at the MCC! RIP mate, you‘ll be missed,” the post read.

Sister Rhianna said Mr Davidson never asked for help but would always be the first ones to offer help to others.

“The fundraiser will help Mel and their precious girls Willow and Noah have that extra security while trying to navigate what their new normal will look like,” she wrote.

Jimmy’s Construction Echuca posted a tribute and thanked Mr Davidson for his “absolute generosity”.

“The community has lost an absolute top bloke ... Trent thank you for your absolute generosity. You will be greatly missed.”

Friend Suzanne Tangey said “Davo was one hell of a guy who will never be forgotten”, while another family friend Jessica Oliver said his passing was a “complete shock”.

“I always liked his cheeky & fun nature. What a loss,” she said.

Friend Chris Johns said it was a tragedy for “such a young family”.

“A massive loss,” he said.
