Firefighters deem Shepparton house fire on Kennedy Rd under control
A house fire in Shepparton has been brought under control by firefighters, saving half the home from being engulfed.

Firefighters have brought a blaze at a Shepparton home under control on Monday afternoon.
A Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) spokesman said firefighters responded shortly after 1pm to the Kennedy Rd home after a triple-0 caller reported a house fire.
“Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find a fire involving a brick house,” he said.
“Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose lines to attack the fire.
“The fire was extinguished.”
It is understood the fire involved the kitchen and living area of the house, with the firefighters preventing further spread of the flames throughout the rest of the home.
The spokesman said firefighters searched the premises and no one was inside.
The scene was deemed under control before 1.30pm and Victoria Police were on scene.
Shortly after, FRV was also called to a fire on Archer St, Shepparton after a triple-0 caller reported a column of smoke issuing from a backyard about 1.30pm.
“CFA firefighters also attended this incident,” the spokesman said.
“Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find rubble being burnt off in a backyard.
“The scene was deemed under control at 1.40pm.”
