A Benalla man who allegedly killed a teenage boy while driving disqualified has fronted the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.

A Benalla man who allegedly killed a teenage boy in an alleged hit and run in August has fronted the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.
Dylan Norman, 23, fronted the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court after it is alleged he hit a young teenage boy who later died from his injuries.
It is alleged Mr Norman hit 16-year-old Caleb Puttyfoot on August 4 with a four-wheel-drive ute.
He was arrested and charged on August 7 with several offences, including failing to stop and render assistance, pervert the course of justice and driving while disqualified.
Caleb was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital from the crash site on Bridge St West, in Benalla, with life-threatening injuries, including brain damage.
He died nine days later.
The teenager was remembered at a funeral service in Benalla in September.
Mr Norman is currently on bail and has to report to the Benalla police station each Friday.
Mr Norman will next front court on January 16, 2024, where he will face a committal mention.
