Sai Rohit Paladugu, a student who was studying to support his family overseas, had his life tragically cut short when he crashed his car into a tree in the Goulburn Valley last week.
On Thursday November 3, Mr Paladugu was driving to work when police believe his car was travelling north along the Goulburn Valley Highway when it left the road and struck a tree.
Police and other emergency services were called to the Goulburn Valley Highway, near the Hume Freeway Interchange, just before 6.15am
But unfortunately Mr Paladugu passed away at the scene.
The young man travelled to Australia from India in 2017 to pursue his higher education and after the death of his father a few years ago he was working to support his mother.
Work is in progress to repatriate the body to his hometown.
He was a resident of Polakala Yellampally Village, Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh State.
Those who knew Mr Paladugu have remembered him as someone who “worked tirelessly” to support his mum.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help financially support Mr Paladugu’s mother.
So far more than $50,000 has been raised from a $100,000 target.
