3.4 magnitude earthquake rattles Rushworth, Victoria

A 3.4 magnitude earthquake has been felt across Victoria, from its epicentre in the state’s north.

A 3.4 magnitude earthquake has rattled the northern Victorian town of Rushworth.

At a depth of 3km, the quake shook the town just after noon on Tuesday, according to Geoscience Australia.

Almost a dozen people have reported they felt the earth shudder, including six in the Goulburn Valley, three in Melbourne, one in Geelong and one in Mansfield.

The quake was reported just southeast of Carag Carag, at a depth of 4km.
