Yarra Ranges police charge trio over damage at Kilsyth Centenary Pool

POLICE have charged two men and a youth over damage at Kilsyth Centenary Pool that left the iconic canvas dome slashed.

YARRA Ranges Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three males after the Kilsyth pool was badly damaged on September 1.

Local residents discovered the iconic dome had collapsed after multiple slashes by unknown offenders with an estimated damage bill of more than $60,000.

A Kilsyth boy, 17, a Lilydale man, 20, and a Kilsyth man, 20, have all been charged with criminal damage and burglary and bailed.

The 20-year-old men will appear at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on April 8, 2015.

The 17-year-old will appear at a children’s court at a later date.
