A nationwide survey of graduates has revealed which universities are most likely to help you score a full-time job — and how much you could expect to earn. And it’s good news for those studying at Monash. SEE THE RANKINGS

Monash University graduates are more likely to find a job when they leave than students at any other Victorian university.
Data obtained exclusively by the Leader shows 72.3 per cent of Monash students found full-time work within four months of graduation.
The figures from the Australia Education Department’s Graduate Outcomes Survey also showed the median annual salary for Monash graduates this year was $63,500.
Emily Qiao, who is in the third year of a double degree in electrical and computer systems engineering and commerce at Monash, has also completed an internship with Telstra.
“Engineering covers a lot of problem-solving and practical skills that companies look for,” she said.
“I’m the type who loves a challenge, and what’s exciting about the degree is it’s different every day.
“My end goal is to start my own robotics business.”
Ms Qiao is also the chief operating officer of RoboGals Global – an organisation to promote women in engineering.
A Monash University spokesman said graduates were given “hands-on experience’’.
“Our extensive collaboration with industry professionals across the world means students get access to cutting-edge knowledge and skills that can help them secure a job before graduation,’’ he said.
On the list of 41 universities surveyed nationally, Monash University’s full-time employment rate in 2020 was equal 13th with University of Tasmania.
Charles Sturt University topped the list with a full-time employment rate of 84.7 per cent.
Victoria’s other top tier university, University of Melbourne, came in 38th, with just 57 per cent of students finding full-time work within four months of graduation.
A University of Melbourne spokeswoman said many of its graduates go on to further study in Masters and Doctoral degrees, as well as finding full-time work.
The median annual salary for a University of Melbourne graduate is $59,500.
Students who graduated from pharmacy degrees were the most likely to find a job nationally, the survey results showed, with 94.4 per cent securing full-time employment.
Medicine (93.9 per cent), rehabilitation (87.3 per cent) and engineering (83.4 per cent) graduates also fared well in the job hunt.
Dentistry had the highest median salary nationally of $84,000, followed by medicine ($75,000) and teaching ($70,000).
The employment rates are based on graduates looking for full-time work, four months after finishing an undergraduate degree.
