A Warrandyte landmark is getting restored to ensure it remains the town’s focal point for future generations.
The State Government has committed $4980 to repair the cenotaph at the Warrandyte RSL sub-branch.
The money will allow the sub-branch to repair damaged mortar, stonework and name plates.
It is one of 84 projects that will share in $1.4 million of cash boost to support the state’s veterans.
Secretary Del Caulfield said the cenotaph, built in the 1930s, was integral to the town and a focus of Warrandyte.
“You can see it from every direction, it means so much to the community and needs to be preserved,” she said.
