Tullamore Doncaster: New apartment block opens to homeowners

The transformation of the former Eastern Golf Course is in full swing, with people moving into a new five-storey apartment building. Homeowners at the new estate will be able to enjoy a luxury members-only health club, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, spa facilities and a creche.

The first apartment building at a huge new housing estate in Doncaster is now complete.

The Tullamore housing estate project has seen homes and apartment blocks built on the 47ha site of the old Eastern Golf Club in Doncaster.

About 90 per cent of the units in the five-storey Phoenix building at the estate have been sold, with buyers starting to move in last week.

Feedback from newly settled homeowners is already informing developer Mirvac’s early planning for its latest apartment block, Folia.

Tullamore will become ‘a lush contemporary neighbourhood’ featuring about 800 dwellings set across the former 47 hectare golf course site, which Mirvac purchased in 2011 after the course operators decided to relocate to the Yarra Valley.

Construction started in 2017 and will be ongoing until at least 2021.

Buyers range from those purchasing their first home to downsizers, with flexible apartment options available including up to three-bedroom units.

Mirvac spokeswoman Elysa Anderson said feedback from buyers on the newly-completed project had influenced the latest venture.

“We’ve got demand for quality design and larger, three-bedroom apartments,” she said.

“And our buildings have been designed to maximise views of parklands.”

Mirvac launched its new Folia apartment building — 102 apartments and grand penthouses over six levels — last weekend.

It’s the second building within the Apartments of Tullamore precinct with construction expected to start in coming weeks.

“The success of the Phoenix development indicates that buyers respond well to our experience delivering quality apartments that are adaptable with established amenity,” Ms Anderson said.

Ms Anderson said downsizers were seeking “social connectivity and a healthy lifestyle”.

According to its website, Tullamore offers a ‘harmonious blend of nature and activation, respite and recreation’.

Once complete, a ‘Next Gen Health and Lifestyle Club’ will provide a luxury members-only facility dedicated to holistic wellness, flexible fitness, rejuvenation and relaxation. Amenities will include indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, spa facilities and a creche.

A one-bedroom apartment will set you back about $390,000, while a more luxurious three-bedroom apartment with a garden terrace will cost $1,230,000.
