Stockland The Pines: Christmas Day thief targets food stores

A shirtless thief with a sweet tooth has targeted shops in a Doncaster East food court on Christmas Day, stealing ice cream, biscuits and cakes.

A burglar was literally taking the cake when he robbed sugary treats from a Doncaster East shopping centre on Christmas Day.

Victoria Police spokesperson Leading Senior Constable Melissa Seach said the burglar with a sweet tooth broke into Stockland The Pines via a side door about 2pm.

Once inside, he attended a number of food stores in the food court and stole cookies, ice cream and a cake, she said.

The offender is described as caucasian in appearance, aged in his early 30s with dark hair and a medium build.

He was shirtless and wearing dark coloured shorts and thongs.

Manningham detectives have released an image of a man that may be able to help with their inquiries.
