OLD Trinity reclaimed top spot on the Premier ladder after a 41-point win over Old Xaverians on Saturday.
With Old Xaverians fighting for both a spot in the finals and to avoid relegation Old Trinity won, 16.14 (110) to 10.9 (69).
Old Trinity coach Adam Andrews said he was particularly pleased with his side’s early endeavour.
“We were really pleased to be five goals up at quarter time after our poor first quarter last week,” he said.
“We knew Old Xaverians would come out hard as they were playing for finals and playing for their lives.”
Ben Howell starred in the middle, while Jake Steinhart on the wing and Callum Pohl in defence impressed.
Also in Premier, Old Carey suffered a costly 40-point loss to Collegians this week.
Old Carey went down 18.14 (122) to 11.16 (82), a defeat that saw them drop out of the top four.
Marcellin Old Collegians had another big win in their Premier C match over PEGS.
Marcellin won 15.11 (101) to 10.9 (69), with Pat Hamblin, Jason Wood and Jackson Green starring in the 32-point win.
In Division 1, Bulleen Templestowe lost to Yarra Valley Old Boys, 14.16 (100) to 9.10 (64) following last week’s drama-filled match.
The loss meant that the Bullants will be relegated to Division 2 next year.
Also in Division 1, Whitefriars Old Collegians beat Kew, 14.15 (99) to 11.5 (71).
In Division 4, Manningham Cobras lost to Parkside 15.16 (106) to 7.5 (47).
