IF it’s not Chris Weeks in the runs, it’s David Wildsmith.
The Kew No. 3 hammered an unbeaten 92 from 116 deliveries in his side’s total of 6-188 in a 56-run win over Balwyn on Saturday.
Wildsmith’s knock lifted him to 283 runs for the summer and to the top of the North/East leading runscorers charts after the first four rounds of the VSDCA season.

Wildsmith has two unbeaten 50s and a century to his name and is averaging an eye-popping 141.5.
Capping off his day, he took 2-27 from eight overs with his leg spin as Balwyn finished with 9-132 from its 45 overs.
The left-hander racked up 484 runs last season but played second fiddle to Weeks, who hogged headlines with four tons and four half-centuries.
“Everyone goes through a bit of a patch at some point in their career when they’re in really good form,” Weeks said.
“It’s just about when you’re in that period, you’ve got to cash in and be hungry to make big runs.
“Obviously last season I got that opportunity and Wildy is currently in that sort of nick at the moment.”
Wildsmith found the boundary on just three occasions in his latest masterclass on the wide and lush expanses at Gordon Barnard Reserve.
“Beautiful conditions but it was just big and every time you hit the ball in the air it just plugs,” Weeks said.
“The wicket was pretty challenging as well. It was a bit two-paced and on the slower side so it was really hard to hit through the field.”
Wildsmith was supported by contributions from Rohan Wight (21), Weeks (24), Nick Chamberlain (22) and debutant Joel Adams (21).
“It suits him perfectly batting through the innings,” Weeks said.
“We’ve got a naturally pretty aggressive batting line up so blokes can come in and play their natural games around him and he can anchor the innings a little bit.”
The win improved Kew’s record to 4-0 ahead of this weekend’s top-of-the-table two-day fixture against Bayswater at Victoria Park, while Balwyn has a 1-3 record.
