Two week break has no affect on Old Carey

OLD Carey gave Beaumaris, an 87-point hiding in their VAFA Premier clash on Saturday, leading from start to finish, to win 17.10 (112) to 3.7 (25).
Coach Glenn Cox said he was pleased with how his side started the game.
“Coming off a two-week break it was good to jump out of the blocks,” Cox said.
“After half time it wasn’t a great game to watch but we got the result we were looking for.”
The Old Carey backline was impressive, with Steven Freemantle and Jacob Murphy starring.
Neighbouring Old Trinity also recorded a win in the Premier division, beating University Blacks by 24 points.
From quarter time Old Trinity led the way and went on to win 11.9 (75) to 7.9 (51).
Gabriel Hamilton starred in the win, while Ned Hunt and Callum Pohl were among the best.
In Premier C, Marcellin Old Collegians had an impressive win over Oakleigh.
After holding Oakleigh goal-less in the first quarter, Marcellin went on to win 19.11 (125) to 11.7 (73).
Jeremiah Antypas booted eight goals in the win, bringing his season total to 40.
In Division 1, Whitefriars Old Collegians defeated St Mary’s Salesian by 91 points, 23.9 (147) to 8.8 (56).
Thirteen goal-kickers contributed to the total, with Daniel Hogan and Marlon Simbolon among the best.
Also in Division 1, Bulleen Templestowe lost to NOBS/St Pats by 24 points, 15.10 (100) to 11.10 (76).
In Division 4, Manningham Cobras beat North Brunswick by nine points, 10.12 (72) to 9.9 (63).
