The quality of players in Big V Basketball went to another level in season 2023. On the eve of the finals, we’ve revealed our top players from the Division 1 and 2 men’s competitions.

It has been a thrilling season of Big V Basketball.
With the Division 1 and 2 men’s finals set to start this weekend, we’ve broken down 20 of the top players this season.
Here’s who made the list.
Liam Allison, Melton
The leading playmaker in Division 2 with 5.17 assist per game. Also capable in scoring in many different ways.
Adam Anderson, Altona
The leading scorer in Division 2 with 25.14 points per game in his debut season with the Gators. Anderson proved to be a consistent threat from deep shooting 38.24 per cent.
Ben Barlow, Gippsland United
Stepping up a division did little to impact the important United player. Led the team in scoring but most importantly made his presence felt on the defensive end.
Tyler Best, Wallan
Did a bit of everything for the Panthers on both ends of the floor. Best can score quickly but also get in the passing lanes to create transition opportunities.
Michael Birt II, Warrandyte
The leading scorer in Division 1 with 29.11 points per game. He was also able to have an impact on the defensive end.
Stephen Coffey, RMIT Redbacks
One of the better seasons in recent memory. Averaged 20.5 points, 9.69 rebounds and 8.5 assists.
Conrad Cooper, Surf Coast
A double-double machine all season long. While he wasn’t always a massive threat to put up 30 points, Cooper created plenty of second chance opportunities. Averaged 6.5 offensive boards a game.
Jacob Daniels, Collingwood
The All Stars leading scorer with 19.33 points per game. Impacted the game at both ends.
Joe Davis, Pakenham
Back for a second season as the Warriors import, Davis enjoyed another fine season on both ends of the floor.
Elijah Davy, Chelsea
Davy had a high impact on offence throughout the season after averaging 25.68 points and five assists. Also collected 5.47 rebounds and 2.68 steals.
Pat Green, Whittlesea
Enjoyed a fine season for the Division 2 minor premier with 17.17 points per game, 5.94 rebounds and 4.39 assists. Green was one of the better three-point shooters.
Cameron Gross, Mildura
Shot a very impressive 57.62 per cent from the field this season while averaging a team-high 15.88 points per game. Not a player you can leave open from deep.
Dareon Jones, Southern Peninsula
Jones was left to carry much of the offensive load for his side who finished last on the Division 1 ladder.
Josh Kooiman, Shepparton
One of the better three point shooters in Division 1 throughout the season. Kooiman could score himself or create opportunities for others.
Kieran McQueen, Mornington
Started every game for the Breakers averaging 20.61 points and 10.06 rebounds. Consistently a threat on the defensive end too.
Derek Murphy, Shepparton
The leading scorer for the Division 1 minor premier with 16.65 points per game. Murphy is also a strong rebounder and defender.
Jamal Pollydore, Warrnambool
Helped the Seahawks to a top-five finish after averaging 27.35 points, the second most in Division 1.
Idan Shamis, Maccabi
In just 12 games, Shamis made his presence felt on the court with 4.5 assists open game, the third highest in Division 2. Also chipped in with 17.92 points per game. Also averaged the second most steals.
Christian Soderholm, Sherbrooke
Enjoyed a fine season despite the Suns middle of the road finish. Averaged 20.13 points and 12.63 rebounds.
Gene Vocale, Craigieburn
The leading scorer for Craigieburn throughout the season with just over 19 points per game. Was also the leading playmaker for the battling Eagles.
