Three Glen Waverley Secondary College students have been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on their way home from school.
Emergency services were called to O’Sullivan Rd in Glen Waverley after a black Mitsubishi Triton ute collided with the group of teens about 3pm on Friday, down the street from their school.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the vehicle stopped nearby and a 44-year-old Springvale man was assisting police with enquiries.
She said a passenger inside fled the scene.
A teenage girl and boy were rushed to the Royal Children’s Hospital and The Alfred, respectively, in serious but stable conditions with injuries to their upper and lower bodies.
Another boy is in a stable condition in Box Hill Hospital with minor upper body injuries.
A Department of Education spokesperson said: “The school and the department are providing support for the students’ families, other students and staff from the school.”
