The Salvation Army has announced it will reopen 78 op shops on Monday.
In a letter to Salvos Club members National Salvos Stores director Matt Davis said it made the decision to open the stores to support the community.
“Salvos Stores play a vital role in our communities by ensuring our customers have access to great quality items at reasonable prices, as well as providing support for the most vulnerable in our community,’ he said.
“With winter approaching, we want to ensure our community has access to the items they need.”
Mr Davis said the reopened stores would also be able to accept donations.
“While we have been home, we have all been cleaning out at home.
“These stores will be accepting donations, and will give the community within the local area a place to donate.”
Mr Davis said the Salvos had taken a number of additional precautionary measures to ensure it kept team members, customers and donors safe when they visited the stores.
